I arrived in Slovakia 7 years ago having just completed radiotherapy treatment in the UK, my native country. My wife and I retired here, both in our sixties.
When my reciprocal healthcare arrangements for retired people were completed, I joined a family doctor practice in Zvolen and showed my prostate cancer records to him. He introduced me to Dr Babela.
Let me say now my heallth care in Slovakia has been superior in all respects to that in England. Availability and accessability to the Slovak health service has amazed me, doctors and all staff that I have met (many) are all very kind to me and their expert attention to my needs has been superb.
Dr Babela continued Urological treatment and introduced me to Dr Malec for ongoing Oncological treatment. When Dr Malec retired, Dr Savka took over my care. Seven years later my prostate cancer is still under control and I owe my continued life to their care, kindness, profiency, attentiveness and availability.
A big "thank you" to all.
