Teraz je takto:
In November 2024, Nicaraguan president Ortega revealed his plan for a 276.5 mile (445-km) interoceanic canal. In a presentation to Chinese investors at the XVII China-Latin America and the Caribbean Business Summit in Managua, Ortega said, “Every day it becomes more complicated to pass through Panama” and said Nicaragua’s canal project could attract Chinese and American investment. As part of Ortega's new proposal, the Chinese company CAMC had signed a contract with Nicaragua's Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure for the construction of a deep-water port in Bluefields. From there, the canal would traverse northern Nicaragua via Lake Xolotlan before reaching the Pacific through Puerto Corinto.
